Bio
Lauren M. Salopek is a self-taught artist who began creating in 2016, armed only with a set of watercolor pencils. From there, she has pushed herself to explore new mediums and ways using color to express what couldn't emerge in any other form. Lauren works mainly in acrylics, and dabbles in oil pastels and metallic leaf. All her paintings are improvisational: there is little to no formal plan for the piece before beginning. She prefers to let the piece guide her and take shape into what is meant to emerge.
Having trained as a musician, actress, and writer, Lauren has had a lifelong love affair with art of all kinds. Painting has been a challenging, rewarding, and therapeutic addition to her artistic arsenal. She can't wait to see where this adventure takes her next.
